Our Services

We offer expert ecological consultancy across Scotland and beyond, concentrating on a broad range of ornithological surveys, data analysis and ecological assessment, diverse technical reporting and Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW).

We provide work in many sectors - renewable energy schemes (wind farms and hydro schemes), energy distribution projects, road and infrastructure projects, ports and harbours, ground investigation and construction sites.

We offer ornithological surveys and advice for a range of clients ranging from individual landowners, statutory authorities, small and large landscaping, engineering or environmental consultancies and construction companies to multinational energy corporations.

Bird Surveys

All surveys follow standard guidance recommended by NatureScot and/or the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (CIEEM)

ECoW

Environmental regulation and planning policy impose obligations on developers and contractors to protect and enhance biodiversity through their work on construction sites. 

All ECoWs are Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card holders, and we provide the following services as an ECoW:

  • Advice on protecting valued biodiversity features.
  • Offer practical, site-specific mitigation measures to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Avoid project delays and reduce negative commercial implications and risk of prosecution.
  • Undertake on-site translocation and watching briefs.
  • Produce and deliver toolbox talks to site inductions.
  • Provide mitigation documentation, constraints plans, Species Protection Plans as required.
  • Supervise construction or investigation works in ecological sensitive areas.
  • Production of a comprehensive spreadsheet detailing all stages of the construction project.
